SOUTH WEST BOWMAKER

Clevedon Golf Club , Somerset

Monday 29th September 2025

The South West Bowmaker is a team event consisting of

3 players playing an 18 hole stableford competition

with the best 2 scores to count on each hole.

Qualification for entry shall be membership of one of the

South  West County Associations

Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset or Wiltshire

78 players from three counties played in glorious sunshine, on a course that was in superb condition.  The entry fee included tea & coffee on arrival and a one-course meal afterwards, all very well organised by the office and kitchen staff so the day ran seamlessly.

The local talent of Jackie McDonald, Sarah Martin & Caroline Fairhurst won with 81 points, closely followed by Jo Frances-Pope, Carol Brooking & Georgette Baker from Lansdown on 79.  There were prizes for the first five teams, plus two nearest the pins, both won by Louise Church from Henbury.  Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone for supporting this event.

Yet again, many thanks to Clevedon for hosting us, for Karen & Nikki in the office who could not have been more hopeful; the greens staff for presenting the course in such superb condition and putting out the tee makers & flags for us; the catering staff for very prompt service as each team came in; Janet who stood outside for 4 hours to start each group and stay to present all the prizes & give moral support!    And last but definitely not least , James Wilde, Jeanette Cook and Rich Dix (on his birthday!) for refereeing.
