2nd Team League - 2023

The South West Women's County Second Teams operate a round robin league event where the region is split into a North and South Region consisting of 3 counties.  That split is rotated every 2 years to spread the burden of travel with Somerset and Dorset switching groups every 2 years.

For 2023-24;

The North Region comprises Gloucestershire, Wiltshire & Dorset

The South Region comprises Devon, Cornwall & Somerset

For 2025-2026;

The North Region comprises Gloucestershire, Wiltshire & Somerset

The South Region comprises Devon, Cornwall & Dorset

Each region plays a match off scratch against each other on a single day consisting of 3 foursomes matches am and 6 singles matches pm. The Final is held at Tiverton GC each year (a mutually agreed central location) on the first Sunday in October and the cost of hosting that final is charged evenly across all counties. Match results are circulated to the relevant 2nd team Captains and given to the SW Women's website con-ordinator for publication. In the event of a tie in the group matches the winning team is decided on a count back as per the protocol for the SWIC First team / EG Finals.

Final 2023 - Sunday 1st October 2023 at Tiverton GC

 Congratulations to Gloucestershire

Winners of the 2nd team League

Gloucestershire defeated Cornwall in a keenly fought contest at Tiverton GC on Sunday 1st October. The weather was set fair and the course was very well presented . Gloucestershire took a narrow lead 2-1 from the morning foursomes into the afternoon singles. There was some great golf, a credit to both sides and some very close matches which belies the final score line of 6 ½ - 2 ½ .

Our thanks go to Tiverton GC for allowing us to host this final and to the Catering staff for looking after us so well during the day.
